One week...

This time next week I will be on a plane to Thailand. Oh my God! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. My three months off felt like three minutes. I have decided to start up a blog so that you can read about my Thai adventures if the urge strikes, but your inbox won't be bombarded with long-winded emails. Hopefully this will keep you entertained and maybe give you the desire to come out and visit me (hint hint)! C'mon, it's only a day away! (Wow - Annie flashbacks.)

My first entry will explain the name of my url. As most of you know, I have an irrational fear of birds, Chickens included. My cousin got married yesturday and I was in the bridal party. One of the other girls in the party had spent some time in Thailand. When she learned that I was afraid of birds, she told me a wonderful story to help ease some of my nerves. She was staying in this little hut on the beach, and she woke up early in the morning to go outside and enjoy the tropical environment. She stepped out onto the porch to see hundreds of chickens... everywhere, surrounding her tiny little hut. She took a deep breath and decided to be brave (because even if you don't have a life long fear of birds, being surrounded by 100 chickens if freaking scary!) She was just about to step foot onto the first step when she saw one of the chickens hopping up the steps. IT WAS HEADING STRAIGHT FOR HER! Now, I'm not to sure of the details at this point - but I'm sure this possessed chicken was just about to take a chunk out of her leg, when a small child came out of nowhere and shooed them all away. Disaster averted.

So provided that I don't get attacked by chickens, I'll keep on blogging.
